ACP Protocol
ACP (Agent Communication Protocol) is an editor-native protocol for AI agent ↔ editor communication, developed by the Zed editor team. Distinct from MCP (which connects models to tools), ACP gives agents direct buffer access and write-through the editor’s save path. Mentioned in Claude Code → Cross-Platform Migration Matrix, Our Stack vs omp, Neovim AI Operator Workflow, and omp (oh-my-pi) (omp acp command). Neovim plugins CodeCompanion.nvim and Avante.nvim also list ACP support.
